Heavy foreign accent (SE Asia?) from the Dept. of Treasury informing me of a "legal emergency" that need to be resolved immediately. Vaguely remember some similar bogus scam messages left weeks earlier. After some testy back and forth about getting him to tell me who he was calling from (never the exact same answer) or why they did not send a certified letter (we did, but you were not home to sign) he finally told me to call, this number 347-352-8557, x115 Danny Watson. Called back immediately to speak with 'Danny', and after some phone fumbling, the "security desk" sadly informed me he had left for the day. Very nasty scam and belligerent as well. Any connection to the similar accented individual who called from 206 462-5449 yesterday insisting that my windows 7 computer had been hacked and I needed to immediately give him info on the machine?
Call saying they were from Jeff Thomas with Legal Affairs and if we didn't return there call legal action would be taken. When i returned call "Officer Smith" answered LOL. When I told him I forwarded his number to law enforcement and my attorney he hung up. Officer Smith had a far east accent.
Caller happened to get a hold of my mother, and gave her quite the threat by saying police are going to lock her up in prison and "beat her [***] red" for apparently something to do with income tax . I told her not to worry as this was just some stupid scam of some sort and the guy definitely sounded like a foreigner. -10/10 would never answer again.
This is definitely a scam. They called and left a message at my home phone asking for my wife. They said that they were from the "legal department" and we had to call back right away. You could hear ambient noise in the background. It was definitely a call center with a lot of people talking. The woman who left a message did not sound very sophisticated or educated. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of caution, I called back. I'm an attorney. I quickly realized that they had no idea what they were talking about and they were trying to intimidate me into paying them money for some vague tax lien. Once I realized that I simply hung up. Not worth the time.
Called once and left message saying this "is a legal issue that needs your immediate attention." I blocked the call. Call log showed they called back 2 hours later, but got rejected ... Thanks Panasonic!
If this were a legitimate legal firm, they would know that it is harassment to make more than 1 call per day. SCAM

Just received a call from this number saying I was being investigated for tax fraud. I will be jailed for six months if I don't pay $30,000.00 because of my taxes back in 2011. I polietly laughed and called them asisine. After attempting to call from my cell phone, there was no answer.
