Detective Andy Taylor form who knows where-definitely not Texas! Such a scam but a scary one since they claim to have my social security number. I filed reports with all the credit reporting agencies so that they would red flag anything to do with my ss# for the next ninety days. I also filed a complaint with our local branch of the FBI since it is a federal crime to impersonate a federal agent.
received a voice mail on my cell phone from officer andy taylor federal dept of investigations threating me with a court filing when i called back he kept stressing that there was a cout filing ready for misc items when i asked who was filing charges and i wanted him to mail me information before i would discuss any thing he had my social security number, address, employer and of course my cell phone number. i again asked who was filing this claim he said he could only give me the parent company's name carenet marketing and when i asked when i obtained any thing from whatever company he said it would have been in the last year that was why they were offering a settlement amount of $450 but if they filed in court it would be $2500. i told him i had not received any thing from any one in the last year and told him i believed this was a scam and identity theft he hung up on me, Andy Taylor has such a heavy indian accent that you know this is not his real name.
I just receive a voice mail on my cell phone, saying that I am in a law suit. from a department of financial and I am not calling him back because I do not owe any one money, and if I did I would have gotten something in the mail, stating so, so I know this is a BIG HUGE SCAM AND DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE WITH THIS NUMBER AND I AM GOING TO REPORT THIS TO THE POLICE AND THE FBI TOO
I received a voice message on my cell, home phone and work phone from an officer Andy Turner with Dept of Financial Investigations from this phone number. Stating the it is urgent I return the call and it is of a time sensitive matter. I have not answered any of the calls nor do I intend to. I am not sure how they got a hold of my social security number or my phone numbers but I intend to check into this.
THIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.
