Called me twice leaving threatening messages about I'm getting sued by the IRS. I didn't answer, but decided to call them back just to see who it was (I suspected a scam as I have no issues with the IRS). "David Frost" with ID number 210993 answered (with a lot of background noise) claiming to be working for the IRS in Wash., DC. He then wanted to know I was and I said he had called me twice, he already knew who I was. When I then told him this was a NY number, he changed his tune and said that he worked for the IRS in DC, but was calling from NY. I played a BS card and said that if I was getting sued by the IRS, to send the papers and hung up.

The caller said the IRS was suing me and I needed to call immediately.
I receive the same thing from this same number a couple of years ago and reported it.
IT is a scam - the IRS does not call and leave a message, nor do they file a law suit against consumers without personal contact, cause and even then, hardly ever.
While I get it and have ignored this, I fear for the huge population of elderly or ESL people who do not understand this... and since this is the SAME NUMBER as a couple of years ago, I am really wondering why they haven't been shut down.
Sad - make them go away please!
Same. This comes 3 weeks after a call from another number saying to call the District Attorney because he was going to file charges (unspecified). I refused to call either or the numbers. Certified mail is for lawsuits and legal action, not telephone calls. I feel certain the two calls are linked.
