They have many complaints filed through the better business bureau. They are operating out of New York, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, etc. They have tel-marketing companies working for them. They are very American.
There's nothing more I can do to prevent s*** calls like this from making it onto my phone. I am on the DNC registry. I report the numbers. "They" just keep calling using different numbers so that I only get a call once from each of their numbers. I just got calls from this number and another one from "Georgia" (404 area code) within the past hour. I don't want to change my phone number since I've had it for the past 10 years since I first got a phone, but at this point it's getting ridiculous. These SPAM calls never leave a voicemail and I know from experience that if you call them back nothing happens and if you answer when they call it's either automated junk or they hang up (what was the point of calling me to just hang up, even as a telemarketer selling crap?). Until I decide to get a new number, I try and have "fun" with it when they are idiots and call me while I'm hard at work. It's obvious when it's a junk number since I don't know many people out of California, so any time someone calls me from an out-of-state number, I either send them directly to voicemail or I answer and either 1. breathe heavily into the phone or 2. (if I'm home) scream very loudly, then hang up immediately.
They call and hang-up to make sure your number is 'in-service' / active phone number, and then that scammer sells your active # to other tele-marketers. I just don't answer at all. Then I look up the number on here and verify it as spam, then I assign the various numbers into one saved contact (Crooks and scams), set that ringtone to 'silent' and direct all calls into voicemail. I too have had my cell phone # for more than 12 years. I have found that silence & ignoring are the most effective in minimizing the frequency of the calls. ..
But if you're having that much fun, I guess just keep up the heavy breathing, lol!!!
Got a call from this number this morning. It was a recording thanking ME for calling them and then goes on and tells me that I am eligible for a $100 Wal-mart gift card and to push 1 to talk to a live representative for information. I hung up.
