Left a voice mail saying it was a legal matter. Called back and claimed i had a outstanding amount and the state had a no tolerance policy for repayment and a warrant was issued for my arrest where i'd face 6 months in prison and my assets would be seized. They wanted me to make payment by withdrawing cash and giving them an activation number from a card i'd buy at a local CVS (or other similar stores) and give them part of the code so they could file it with my application to avoid arrest.
while on the phone I got another incoming call from a lady claiming to be with the US treasury. The Caller ID listed it as an Emergency Call and not a normal phone number. Not sure how they do that but it is part of their scam.
"william rodgers" called from "dept of legal affairs". heavy accent. threatening call. couldnt even understand him. 2 nd time this has happened so was skeptical.
Caller said I needed to call immediately regarding a legal matter. Did not address anyone in particular. No name of caller, or company or agency or anything. Won't call back! Tired of these stupid calls.
Received call from a young woman's voice saying a legal matter and needed my immediate attention and to please call back. No other information was given.....no company/law firm what it is regarding etc. I did call them however I blocked my number......very interesting. When a man answered "hello".....knew there was a problem so I asked....."who is this?" He responded....."are you playing games with us lady".... he had a heavy middle eastern accent......REALLY CREEPY!!!!.So glad I blocked my number......DEFINITELY a scam.....beware!!!!
My husband answered this call from someone with a foreign accent telling him that I was in trouble with the US Treasury and need to call back this number immediately. I knew it's got to be a scam but called the number back from work, and got a recording that it is an "unallocated number". Hubby called local police precinct who said to ignore it.
