I got a call from some guy speaking broken english, telling me that I was in trouble with the US Treasury due to tax evasion???? He told me I needed to contact a David Smith at 347-571-9020 at the Treasury Dept. I told him I wouldn't be contacted by phone about my taxes and that all state and fed offices have toll free contact phone numbers for the public. He told me the Treasury Dept mailed me but didn't get a reply and that 347-571-9020 was the business phone # of dave's personal office. I told him I never received such notices by mail but regardless, state/fed agencies don't call to address such issues; they mail notices or show up at your door. I asked for this caller's phone #, claiming I wanted it in case I needed to call his office back with questions. He told me that he and Dave shared the same contact phone # and then I hung up.
They called me saying it was a legal affair and I should have my lawyer's name ready. I returned the call and asked what it's about and they wanted information from me, but still wouldn't tell me what this legal affair was. The guy hung up on me and I returned the call 6 times because they hung up on me every time. They didn't even say hi or anything, it was just click. I tried again on my cell and after saying who I was they did it again.
