I got a call from some guy speaking broken english, telling me that I was in trouble with the US Treasury due to tax evasion???? He told me I needed to contact a David Smith at 347-571-9020 at the Treasury Dept. I told him I wouldn't be contacted by phone about my taxes and that all state and fed offices have toll free contact phone numbers for the public. He told me the Treasury Dept mailed me but didn't get a reply and that 347-571-9020 was the business phone # of dave's personal office. I told him I never received such notices by mail but regardless, state/fed agencies don't call to address such issues; they mail notices or show up at your door. I asked for this caller's phone #, claiming I wanted it in case I needed to call his office back with questions. He told me that he and Dave shared the same contact phone # and then I hung up.

Received phone message from the above number. This is the second scam call received in the last couple of weeks. Can't remember the other phone #, I didn't write it down. We have caller ID and I don't answer calls from people I don't know. Just let them leave a message. Too bad we have to be bothered by these creeps.
Man with Indian accent left a message saying my wife has a legal matter in need of attention and even said, "if I was you, I would take care of this immediately. The name he gave was John Edwards but he never said he was from the Treasury Dept. I tried calling back but no one answers. Gee, I wonder why.
