This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call list in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by refusing to provide an address or phone number when asked. They claim to be the United Stated Government Grants Department and that the victim has been awarded a $9,000 US Government grant. This is clearly not the case, as receiving this kind of grant requires applying for such a grant... Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.
This is the same old scam crap from India, except this must be their new area code they have started calling from. The old one is 202-111-0000. I didn't answer and it went to voice mail. However, they must have thought they hung up, because I could hear the usual boiler room chatter in the background. Then, I head a woman's voice talking in what I think was Hindi. Sounded like she was asking a question like she was a trainee. I have a doctor who is Indian (who is absolutely fantastic). I'll ask him to translate. I'll post back here when I find out.
Got a call from a woman with a West Indian accent from this number 360.111.000 stating that I was approved for a one time government loan to the sum of $9000 that I didn't have tp pay back. When I asked about sending me some documentation or a webpage address she declined and I hung up.
Got a call from this one twice - 1/2 hour apart. No message either time. Area code aside, the 111-0000 looked fishy to me. Joining the rest that blocked this scam #!!
