Message from Kevin Mason was left. I called back and an Indian-sounding woman proceeded to tell me the IRS is processing legal action against me for tax evasion. When I pressed her on information, and asked why the IRS isn't contacting me she hung up.
Received a recorded message from an anonymous caller as follows:
My name is Kevin Mason and this message is intended to contact you regarding an enforcement action executed by the United States Treasury intending this to yours attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid an issue or appearance before a magistrate, judge, or grand jury, for a federal criminal offense. My number is 360-203-0024. I repeat, my number is 360-203-0024. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you.
This is clearly a scam.
Kevin Mason called about an important enforcement action but never identifies who the action is being taken against. First clue it's fraud....dialing #s at random....robo calls. Has left 2 messages, last one sent June 13, indicating it is involving a federal criminal offense with the Department of Treasury. If "whoever" doesn't return call, the case will be forwarded to magistrate court.
This type of fraud is so scary to elderly people and it's such a shame the FCC can't thwart such phone abuse. And now not only do the fraudsters continue to dial home #s, Congress has allowed them to call our cell phones!!!!
The IRS is never mentioned in the phone messages but I once worked in criminal investigation at the IRS and criminal offenses are:
"Tax Investigations include all violations of the criminal statutes under Title 26, as well as other federal criminal violations whose underlying purpose was circumvention of the Internal Revenue laws. Other financial crimes include all money laundering and currency crimes violations not specified under tax investigations."

Will this website add "FRAUD" or "SCAM" to the Call Type? There are legitimate Debt Collectors but this one is not!
