phone call at 10:25pm CST. Caller was actually a recording who identified himself as Kevin Mason with the U.S. Treasury. Something about second attempt to contact us on legal matters. I could hear another ring in the background. Suspicious, due to the time of the call I googled. Seems Kevin Mason calls a lot of people. The number varies some but the name is the same. It is apparently a known scam.
IT's A SCAM!!! They called me repeatedly. The first called and claimed that they were Officer Kevin Johnson with the US Treasury. When I called back, a woman, in a call center, referred to herself as Charlene Storm. Both people had a heavy East Indian dialect. I have never met a Kevin or Charlene from east India. Also, the US Treasury does not call regarding an enforcement action for the IRS.
I received a voice message same as Drew above but it was Kevin Mason, with a strong Eastern dialect, calling re:US Treasury issue. I did not call the number back.
They called and left message for me to but said his name was Kevin Mason. Correct, the IRS will not attempt to contact you in this manner either. I am only concerned for the people might actually get upset by this "fraudster" and think they are in trouble.
