Caller immediately hung up when I answered. I called the number from my cell phone, and it immediately went to a voice mail message that said, "Thank you for calling back." If you are not interested in our promotions and wish to be put on our 'do-not-call list', please press 1 now..."
I never oblige these message requests with a response. I want them to think that I dialed a wrong number, thus not confirming their initial call to me. That would give them both my cell# and my landline# that they originally called.
I just reported them to the FCC. I'm on the DO NOT CALL list. If they get enough complaints, they will investigate. I pushed "1" and asked the person who answered what card they were talking about. She hung up. Please report them when they call!!!
Repeatedly get calls from "Card Services", "Unknown Name", and "Invalid Number". This is just one more example (showed up as "Card Services"). Usually I just ignore them. In the first place, I don't have any accounts that are in need of servicing. On the off chance that I DO answer one, I don't tell them anything, not even my name.
My credit card company already knows my card number, so if they call me, they won't have to ask. Even if I call them, they use their caller ID and look up my account using my telephone number, so I still don't need to give them my card number.
We got a call from this number today at 5:17 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was CARD SERVICES, similar to that of other such calls which we have gotten. This is obviously the same scam using a different number. When I called back I heard a recording which instructed me to press one to have my number placed on their do not call list if I was not interested in receiving any future calls regarding their "special promotions". Since our caller ID is blocked by default on outgoing calls, this of course would not work. This number has been added to our call blocker.
