Caller immediately hung up when I answered. I called the number from my cell phone, and it immediately went to a voice mail message that said, "Thank you for calling back." If you are not interested in our promotions and wish to be put on our 'do-not-call list', please press 1 now..."
I never oblige these message requests with a response. I want them to think that I dialed a wrong number, thus not confirming their initial call to me. That would give them both my cell# and my landline# that they originally called.
Only three days have gone by since their last call using a different number, but the same recorded message. We are on the Do Not Call list, so this call certainly says a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
I wish I had a quarter for every time a robo call voice said "...this is your second and final notice..." This one's so stupid, yet people fall for it. Don't answer your phone, people, if you don't recognize the number.
"[female voice]This is a very important message about your current credit card accounts. This is your second and final notice to lower your credit card interest rate and payments. Press 1 now to find out the terms conditions and associated changes before the next billing cycle. Again, this is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus. So press 1 now to take advantage of this today."
Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recorded robo call on my Spam Calls web page:
Unfortunately, I have been doing that for 2 years. Even though I play along so they think they have a live one, then I ask them to wait, and just put the line down. Calls are from "Card Services", I have tried everything, (politely telling them I'm not a good prospect for them) to reporting them to the Do Not Call List which I am on, but they change the number regularly so they are unable to stop them so far. I still get calls, Finally today, I got a call from this number 360-322-6687, just the number, no identification, they do not wait for me to answer, they just left a message asking me if I want to be taken off their list, I chose the option to be removed. Maybe this is what they do when they finally get tired of getting no response. You may want to try calling the number to see if it gets you anywhere, I don't want to try in case it causes a problem. Good luck,
Hmmm, I just realized what I wrote, does not completely make sense. The call from the number 360-322-6687 came in and before I could answer it they left a message and hung up, so I did call the number and that is when I got the recording to take the option to not receive any more calls. This is a new procedure for them, so maybe I will get lucky, might be worth it for people to try it. Sorry for the confusion.
so I went through there process of pressing 1, then the "wench" (as another commenter appropriately stated) answered, asking if I had over $2000 of credit card debt. I stated "I need you to take me off your call list," she hung up with no reply. Crooks AND Rude, quite a combo.
