Caller immediately hung up when I answered. I called the number from my cell phone, and it immediately went to a voice mail message that said, "Thank you for calling back." If you are not interested in our promotions and wish to be put on our 'do-not-call list', please press 1 now..."
I never oblige these message requests with a response. I want them to think that I dialed a wrong number, thus not confirming their initial call to me. That would give them both my cell# and my landline# that they originally called.
They are criminals, they arent going to stop. A machine does all the work - a computer makes the calls - until you press a button then your call is forwarded to an illegal operation center where criminals behind the phoen try to steal your credit card info with bogus claims that they are out to help you lower your interest rate.
You will get more calls, the number - which is fake- will change. It will always be your final notice. There is and never was a financial stimulus.
Just warn others about telemarketing scams and to never provide personal information over the phone. Regardless, continue to report the calls to the DNC registry.
