I got a call from these idiots. I asked for the social security number for the person they were looking for. Their reply was we don't give out personal information like that over the phone. I replied back with then sadly I won't give you any other information other than my tax issues was handled 3 years ago by my lawyers, and it would be a Kansas city Missouri area code calling me not Washington state. He then said he's signing the arrest warrant and slammed the phone down. I promptly called my tax attorney and the police to report this scam. I'm also calling the IRS to report them.
Got a call from this number today. Automated message with a heavy accent saying they were some officer from Texas from the IRS and I needed to call due to fraudulent activity on my tax return.
I got a phone call from Officer at the IRS regarding tax fraud. If I don't call back threatened legal action and a warrant for my arrest. The IRS wouldn't call you with a recording like this. They'd start with letters. Total scam

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Received a voicemail claiming fraudulent activity on taxes. Called the number from my work phone, was asked my name and refused to give it to them until they would tell me with whom they worked. They tried to give me a badge number, but wouldn't say what organization they represented. When I repeatedly asked them to identify with whom they were employed (sorry, just giving me a supposed badge number isn't enough), and I told them that I don't take these types of calls lightly, they suddenly hung up. Somehow I don't think I'll see a warrant or a police officer on my doorstep in 24 hours.
