My message around 4/20/15 was from 360-967-4395 and also said I've been chosen for a federal grant of $7,000. and should call back this number from 11-7 EST. I didn't, assuming it was a scam. Glad to find this site to share info re scams. Does any govt. agency follow up to stop them and where should one report them? Info on this site would be appreciated.
I'm sorry you REALLY got scammed. Unfortunately, you will never get your money back, but as I wrote in my response to this telephone number, if it sounds too good to be true, it is; in other words, DON'T DO IT.
These people feed off of what you say and off of your desperation to get money. As good as these things sound, just hang up and save what little money you already have.
Thank you to everyone who posted here. Just got a call from this number today and it sounded sketchy as all get out. I refused to give him any information over the phone except for what they already had (name, address, etc.) just out of habitual paranoia and immediately Googled the number after I hung up. Appreciate the help!
I am so grteful that i hd enough common sense to goggle this number and information before i fed into this scam oftaking 250.00 to western union to recieve 7,000 i would hae been beyond angry i am a single mother ot two and i can not afford to give any money away to anyone especially not a scammer so thank you to eeryone that posted about this scam its sad what people will do and say to take from other innocent people.
