Got the call from 360-460-6284. As I can find regarding this number, (and any of the approximately 18 other numbers know widely to be used, this is an 'active line' search program using multiple mask numbers to verify working phone numbers. The mock survey is of no consequence as the only important information to this unnamed organization is that you press ANY number whatsoever. This validates that your number is in service and therefore, valuable to be sold to marketing companies. I found this theory described on another site and being the curious sort that I am, I pressed random numbers to eventually end up waiting for this person that never picked up and I was disconnected. I REALLY wanted to have an unkind word with a real person but this is yet to occur. HOWEVER, since actually pressing a number, the volume of this type of call has increased EXPONENTIALLY from once or twice a week to sometimes 8-10 per day. Blocking these numbers is of little consequence since the program generates a multitude of numbers to identify itself. God help you if you give them your actual information too, wow, I can only imagine.
