Got unknown caller on my cell but did not answer as I think these are set up calls to make sure its active. But as others have noted, its unclear why they are calling. My phones are on a do not call list anyway for what that's worth. Maybe it does not matter since they get a voicemail. There has to be some spam business reason.
They called me. I waited and connected to a person instead of the machine who responded to my "Hello."
When I was transfered to a person I immediately asked to be removed AND WAS HUGN UP ON! I called back and was able to press 1 to be removed.
HOWEVER! I was in the middle of work and very processes intensive work. This should be illegal. I have no idea how this is even legal. It's a call to my cell phone number that I have had since 2005. Only started gettin tella's about a year or two ago. Huge interruptions, messes with my minuets and my work.
This is not legal. Since most of the companies that do this are offshore, it doesn't matter if it's legal or not.
"Rachel" is a well known scam - here are a story from someone who took this very personally.
Some man just called me with this number. I told him not to call me and he kept asking who I was. I said my first name and he said I owed over $5000 and then kept asking who I was. I was like wtf. These guys are so fn annoying. I just want to make sure someone hasn't stolen my identity
