Got a call like Fred, last chance to reduce credit card interest rate. I get this about once a week. Have talked to them, they hang up. Call the number back, enter 1 to be removed from list, doesn't work. Already on DNC list. How do we stop these low lifes? They must be doing something illegal...
I just received a recorded call from this number to my cell phone which I've had registered with the Do Not Call Registry, telling me this was in regards to my credit card (didn't say which one) and no there wasn't a problem with it. The call went on to say that this was my last chance to have the interest rate lowered on my card to as low as 6.9% but I needed to act now and to press "1" to speak to someone. It went on to state that this was my final warning before this offer expired. I answered it on the second ring and it automatically went into the recorded message. I DID NOT press 1. It's always the same message regarding the same thing.
It's never a "live" person, doesn't identify the credit card company they're with and always "leaves a warning" that "my time to take advantage of this offer is about to run out". I too am going to file another complaint with the DNC.
Yes received call @ 1:35 pm today 7/16/12 I am on Do not call list. I continue to receive calls from Olympia WA in caller ID. They never leave a message. What can be done?

Caller ID says "Winner" so, hello scam alert....and we're also on the DNC list.
The automated message said if we allowed them to put a sign in our yard, they would install a security system for free in our house.
This is so wrong, you just know some elderly people fall for this stuff...and no one is supposed to be calling us.
WTF can we actually DO about this?
