Some guy called. He left a message. The message was all broken up. Said to have my attorney call him right away in a rather demanding voice. First of all if I have some kind of problem with the IRS I am sure I will get some kind of paper in the mail. Don't fall for their crap. They are just trying to get money from you. Waste of time.
It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.
The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.
From their FAQ concerning fraud:
http://www.grants.gov/web/grants/support/general-support/grant-fraud.html
Please note the following:
No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web. Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
It is a scam.
Report it to the FTC:

these indian [***] keep calling my phone non stop sometimes ten times a day . sometimes I don't answer and sometimes I do when I wanna just go off and rip someone a new one. SOMETIMES they call me back and say that I am going to be arrested for tax fraud if I don't pay them . that one cracks me up every time . They are flat out scum of the earth and if you don't have anything to do or just have a free moment . Tear them a new one and they will go back at you . The funniest part of them going at me is that they have no concept of how to swear at some one in English . " you are sheet beeetch " or they claim they are going to " have good times " with my wife. that is a good one too . lol . Anyway...... that's my report
this number has been calling everyday a few time a day. I finally answered it just to tell them not to call bad. the guy didn't speak English very good, only understood a few word but when I told him to take my number off his list he was very ugly. I hung up. I now have this number on my blocked list.
How do these people get cell phone numbers when you are on the do not call list??
Have called at least 10 times in the last few days, tells me it is the US government, I have been awarded a grant from them,I tell them I have to apply for one first. sometimes it's a man calling, some awful accent whoever calls..
