I played along with this @ Hole because I was aware of this scam. The guy was so bad at his job that I told him I hadn't filed taxes in 10 years since retirement so try again and he hung up. IRS doesn't make it easy to report this type of crime. Guess they don't care that people are stealing their identity. smh Number called, automated 360 566-2212 Number told to call, 360 718-9951
I came home to an automated message on my answering machine alerting me to the fact that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. If I wanted to know more, I should call 360-718-9951. I decided to do a reverse look up and found this site and now I don't feel so all alone.
Recieved automated call from IRS that there was a laysuit pending. The message included a phone number to call.
This is just a cheezy scam. If you are bein audited by the IRS this will be done by registered US mail, and in sum cases ythe plaintive will personally recieve the summons. Also if the IRS is filling a case against you ther will be a case or docket number and on ocassion an assigned IRS agent to that case ( and real phone #). Do not give out info. to these dam peoiple.
I wanted to do that, too!! I got the same fake threatening phone message, and wanted to call them back & say "do you know who I am? I'm with the FBI and we need your info" etc. but the only answer when I called was kind of creepy music, for a long time. I finally hung up. I might try it again. Maybe if enough people do that they'll stop sooner.
Just tried the two numbers they'd left on messages on my phone to tell them I was also from the FBI or investigator of the DOJ in DC (heehee): one says "you've reached an invalid pager" (phone #567-244-0396), and the other 360-718-9951 is not taking calls at this time." LOL! Idiots.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
