This number called me and said the it's is filing a lawsuit against me. They wanted to know how I was going to resolve this matter and that I could go to jail
I got a message this afternoon from these scammers. The IRS does not call people they send a letter followed by a certified letter. See this alert from the IRS website

I reported this to the FTC. the woman I spoke with asks that anyone who receives a call from this number or any other number claiming to be the IRS to file a complaint with the FTC Their number is 877-382-4357.
whatever you do, do not answer the call and NEVER give out your information (SS#, credit card # etc)
Got call from this number on my cell. Caller ID showed from Washington, I don't answer calls I don't know. Left VM saying from IRS and they were filing a lawsuit against me, left number to call them back (their message was from a computer, not a person). Not falling for it! LOL!

Same here, clipped mechanical recording says to call back concerning " file number"....called back since I do have an IRS dispute although it seemed suspicious,,,,, call back went to unprofessional sounding " hello" hours later to a surprised voice.

A person from this phone number, 360-780-3756, speaking with a heavy accent, called me and stated the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. He then gave me a name of Sargeant Richard Weaver Badge #SA1756, read a bunch of legal stuff that I knew made no sense. I suspected right away a scam as they asked me my name. I said...you would have my name if you were filing a lawsuit against me. He said they would take my house, my driver's license and I would go to jail. I hung up on him. I think he was going to ask me to verify my SS#??? Be very wary!!!!
