Same thing as the other ppl. I was told to call this number by 11am tomorrow or I will have a warrent issued. They said it will be transfered to my state. They call from another number only to tell u to call this number what they claim u are to call Washington. However the main number they claim to call from is a police dept. I believe it from Chicago PD. That's where the number originate from on my call ID. What I scam. I feel for ppl who fall for this. An article online says it was tried in Oct 2014 on college students saying they owed IRS thousands of dollars. Thank goodness for internet n everyone posting. Everyone needs to keep doing it so they know these idiots are out there scamming.
Robo Call-Incoming number Caller ID shows Dir Assist 228-555-0111
Robo "scam" call stating an arrest warrant has been issued by the Justice Department due to a complaint against my name & ss#. I must call back within 24 hours to the above number and can possible halt this action.
Received a call from this number. A co-worker took a message. They said there is a warrant out for my arrest. The co-worker was suspicious. I work for the courts. I know there is not a warrant out for my arrest.
I received a phone call from 360-807-5524 stating that an arrest warrant will be issued by the Justice Department if I didn't call back by the end of business day that day. They gave me a name of Steve to call back and they said they were calling from Washington DC. It sounds like a scam to me, I didn't call back.
This is (one of many) criminal extortion scams that have been going on for years. They are using VOIP and/or disposable cell phones to disguise their identities and locations, making them next to impossible to trace and prosecute. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting victims' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
I received a call today stating there was an arrest warrant coming to my state from Washington and that they had my name and ssn. The person who left the message advised me to call the attorney before 11am tomorrow to get this taken care of. This is a complete scam and I will not be calling. I hate that they keep doing this to people and that some are scared enough to pay them.
