Left message on machine stating irs has lawsuit against me. IRS doesn't make phone calls! Hopefully people don't fall for this bs! Hope these a...holes get caught!
Called twice within hours of each other. Automated message claimed IRS had lawsuit against me and to call this number. They must be as stupid as they think we are. IRS does not call and certainly not from a cell phone, does not use automated messages, does not discusses taxes, payments or personal information over the phone, e-mail or text. TOTAL SCAM!!!
I got the same message as everyone else. It was the "IRS" letting me know they filed a lawsuit against me. I called back and they answered after 8 rings.... The IRS is so busy during tax season, there's no way they answer that quick, plus there was no automated message at the beginning of the call. IRS employees always answer and state their employee ID immediately. I had to ask for it several times and then the woman rattled off a bunch of numbers. When I said I didn't feel comfortable confirming my name, they hung up on me. I called the IRS customer service line and they said they would never call before mailing something, which never happened. Total scam. I hope these scam artists get busted big time.
Received a call this morning, and I picked up the phone to listen to a recording that there is a lawsuit against me, and that I needed to call back this number. I did not. They called twice in the afternoon. Just for the fun of it, I dialed the number, and the lady picked up the phone, saying she was in the investigation department, and that I needed to provide my name and my personal information. Told her that the IRS never calls, she replied that they called because they are filing a lawsuit against me. I told her they were a scam, that I wanted to talk to her supervisor,, and after giving her s*** for a few minutes, she hung up. Loud noise in the background. Must be a large office, with several people trying to scam normal people...Hope they get caught!!!
File a complaint at ftc.gov/complaint. Then the FTC can investigate and follow up on it. There's a special section for a scam where someone impersonated a government employee.
First call this morning from 360-949-1622 was at 6:30, then left messages at 9:30, 11:09 and 12:27. Said IRS had filed a lawsuit against me. Looking up how to block this number.
