I got a call twice last night from them at 9:15. I don't answer calls like that but it was odd because last year I spent two months in Ogden UT on business. The number originates from the Utah Wasatch front area.
Lobby your congresscritter to eliminate this loophole in telemarketing. Of course, they're telemarketers and they're merely disguised as surveying interviewers. Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) uses the same equipment as telemarketers do. 0001, 0002, etc. are called and if somebody answers the phone, the call is routed to the next available "surveyor." The object is to use a "survey" to put the product name in your head about 50-100 times. For example, I was once "polled" by Gallup (yeah, THAT Gallup) about my preference between two national companies that provided video rentals. They started out slowly, but then increased the number of times you had to answer with the name of one company over the other. They didn't really have to say the name, you were doing it yourself after a while. I stuck with it only to see how it worked and it was really irritating.
