received call telling me that my car's warranty was about to expire, but interestingly enough - they didn't even know the make or madoel of my call nor would they tell me 'who' they were - a dealer or wahtever? after I inquired on a couple things - the guy hund up on me. obviously a hoax of some sort since when I tried to call back - the number was disconnected.
"jonathan" called me, and he was offering to lower my interest rates. They wouldn't give me any information about the company. I asked to be placed on their do not call list although i have done this 3 times before. I reported them.
These chuckleheads are scammers and don't really care about the do not call list. However, you should always file a complaint at DoNotCall.gov anyway. Also, if you happen to answer, waste as much of their time as possible. "Tell me more," you say. "Which card are you calling about?" you ask. They'll tell you they're calling about all your cards (BS!). Do not, under any circumstances, fall for their cold read techniques (good guesses which many people think means they already know something). Just keep asking them to tell you more. When you've had enough of their BS, tell them thanks for staying on the line while your "fellow officers" could trace the call and "we've got your number now... BYE!" followed by a click. Every minute you waste of their time means someone else didn't have to get another annoying call, and it can be fun to mess with them! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
We keep receiving calls from this number. Just as with other reports, sometimes the line is blank when I pick it up, and sometimes I get a recorded message that either this is my last chance for lower interest rates on a mortgage, and once they reported that my vehicle warranty "has, or is about to expire."
We're also on the "Do Not Call" list, and yes, these calls are extremely annoying. I wish I knew how to report them and help to put them out of business. These scams are really getting out of control.
