i called back this number after they called me. I was asked for a ssn# and refused to give it, i was then asked for m checking account number and last 4 of ssn# to pull up my account. i gave it, and asked what "DDA" stood for? the woman told me it was "demand deposit account" or in lay terms "checking account." turns out my account was actually overdrawn with charter one bank and the lady was able to put me on a payment plan to repay my balance and put a freeze on my account to stop the fees. i am actually really glad i called back. i asked about "citizens bank" and was told that it is also part of "RBS" which is a bigger bank that owns both companies.
I got a call from this 401-468-5596 today with a message from Citizen's Bank asking me to return the call to 1-888-441-2894. I didn't get the whole number so I called Citizen's Bank directly. It is their collections department.
citizens bank important message well they should not be calling me at all the bill that they are calling about is in debt collection and they also have a cease and decease order in place so they should be call them not me
cease and desist letters do not apply to first party collections.only collection agencies. The bank will keep calling because they are within their legal right to. Also FDCPA laws do not apply as well to first party collections. Also an agency and the original creditor can call about the same bill at the same time. Banks don't walk away from money they are owed.
Yeah this number showed up today...no message. Called the number back and it said it was "Consumer Counseling" and gave me options to pay, etc. Yeah right...like I am gonna make a payment to a company that doesn't tell me their name.
This number called me today and an automated message kept saying, "please hold for this important call." It repeated it several times and then hung up. I guess it wasn't that important afterall.
