Two wrongs do not a right make! These scammers use burner phones and someplace it will end up being a honest persons number. Then along comes some kid reading this and wala, you have created yet another victim of the phone calls.
If you want to do something about this, then educate your family & friends and have them educate others to pass the word around about the scams.
I got the same call from this pesrson. It was horrible - made it sound real. Could've given him an academy award for acting if it wasn't so despicable and evil. Threatened me, my whole family, same details as described above with the brother/accident/BMW/etc. Swearing, yelling, foreign accent, pretty scary.
Same thing happened to me with 401-710-1580 about my brother. He said he was a drug dealer. I don't have a brother and reported it to the State Police. I hope they do something!
