Same here...if it is someone checking to see if someone is home or not, I feel bad for the person that tries to come into this house with my pit bull here.
I feel the amount of frustration of all the posts I have read in these threads. I have been constantly receiving the same call from this # all different times a day. I also am on the Do Not Call List. With an elderly parent, taking the phone off the hook is not an option. I just feel like we should have some kind of recourse when it comes to our rights being violated. We no longer have peace of mind to know if we are being stalked by some predator wanting to know when we come or go or just for him/her to be able to grab us on the phone to sell us something that if we wanted it, we would ourselves go out and purchase it.
I have received several calls from this number. If I don't answer, no message is left. If I pick up, no one answers or the person hangs up. Today when they called, I picked up but said nothing. I could hear others talking in the background--sounded like a call center. The caller (a male) said "hello" a couple of times before hanging up. From now on, I may do the same as I did today--at least I will be wasting a few seconds of their time.
Call back 401-762-0001...it's connected. If you call the 0001 # and at the same time you have someone call the 0000 # , it rings. It's coming out of Woonsocket, Rhode Island or within 5 miles of it's city limits.
FCC and INS are on this I'm being told through a local carrier.
