You are wrong.
The Do Not Call registry stops thousands of law-abiding businesses from calling you. You just can't *count* calls you *don't* get.
Expecting the Do Not Call law to stop criminals from calling is like expecting a "No Trespassing" sign to prevent burglaries.
Many telemarketing and scam calls originate form overseas, beyond the jurisdiction of U.S. laws.
And finally, one benefit of the Do Not Call Registry, even when it's violated, is that you no longer need to wonder if the call you get is legitimate: If they're calling, they're criminal.
Had a friend put an add on Craig's list LOCALLY. I ended up with a text from Jupiter, Florida saying they were interested in my item, but worked and could not make it there, but would send someone to inspect the item an make a secured payment..I checked their ph no. 561-316-7859 And discovered that others had been scammed by that same ph no....under the name of Louis. I texted back saying I found them out, then turned off my phone...I haven't heard back. Then, this morning, I received this call from 402-982-0721 but did not answer. I first went back online to check the ph no. And it was reported by others as a credit card scam issue. Thx to reading the posts of other DECENT people I'm getting one up on this SCAM SCUM. Hummmm, maybe I just gave them a new name ...for future reference. I thank you all for your posts. sinc, joe M.
