Jim called the wrong number. All incoming calls at this secure location are traced to their point of origin. No "spoof" call ID needed as this is 2014. A team of agents will be visiting Jim shortly. Tick, tock.
I got a call from this number at home. Didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. Caller ID said Omaha, NE. If I don't recognize a number, I don't answer. If it's legit or important, they will leave a message.
Cold called from this number. "Jim" said he must have misdialed. Weird sounding country type accent. Said to leave a message and he would call back. I didn't leave a message.
Pretty sure it is a scom, but I don't know what kind. Reverse directory says it is a land line in Omaha, Nebraska.
Same nonsense, different day, except that I don't get a message. But by then, of course, VM has picked up and dear "Jim" in "Omaha NE" knows that he has a valid number to sell. I feel increasingly as though we're under siege and there's no one to protect us.
