Got a call from, what sounded like, an Indian man. Said he was from Microsoft and that my computer was receiving alerts from possibly malicious software from my email.
I thought this was strange because I don't bother emailing on my computer. It comes straight to my cell. So I'm not even logged in on my lap top.
The caller said his name was John. He said he was calling from Microsoft. He told me that my computer has been sending error messages to Microsoft. He told me that he would walk me through on how to correct my computer. He had me go into a "Run" program and type "eventvwr" I went through a couple more steps with him and then I disconnected the call.
I received a call from this number saying he worked for Microsoft and that he was receiving alerts that someone is trying to hack my computer and the information stored in it he made me type in a code and after i realized that this is sketchy I hung up.
