They called my mother's house claiming they need a statement from me in regards to a $55.00 bad check given to a tow truck company back in 2005. I have no idea what they are talking about. When I called 404- 220-9939 the woman identified herself as a private investigator and if I didn't cooperate there would be a warrant issued for my arrested. I find it very odd when I called that she only asked for my name and no other questions. I could have been anyone. Also a man called and left a message but when I did return the call it was a woman that was handling my case. She was extremely unprofessional and I just hung up on her. It's so crazy how they can keep getting away with this....she didn't even give me the company she was with...
I got a call from this company from the number of (470) 798-3026. I have written a check, but it has been taken care of a looooong time ago. Im a paralegal and once i began throwing out all sorts of legal jargon, she kept putting me on hold in an effort to get back on the phone and sound "legal" herself. This company is really nothing more than a glorified Collection Agency. Not quite sure as to why she said something about the feds when such issues normally go to the county or state level. If you havent taken care if the issue however, i suggest going to the initial issuer and working something out!
Received a call from this number from an Investigator Barnes. Indicating they were hired to locate me regarding a criminal investigation. That they needed a statement from me and then it would be turned over to the local DA to have a warrant issued for my arrest. That they could work out a settlement amount for me to avoid criminal charges.
I believe this is a scam because I received the same call in July indicating the same thing. Beware of these people even if they have all your correct information. My suggestion would be to hire an attorney or report to your local police station.
I have done some research on Paragon Investigation not to be confused with Paragon Investigations. If you receive a call from Paragon Investigation report it to the local attorney general. They are not a valid business. The website only list an 800 number with a recording. The recording indicates leave a message someone will call you back. The website looks like it was put together by a 5 year old. There is no contact person, about us information, or background on the company. Don't be scammed by these people!!!
