this rude ignorant law firm keeps calling about a debt that was filled in bankruptcy a year ago. I fianally lost it today and gave that woman an ear full. I screamed yelled etc! It felt great. I also told her it was against the law for her to harrass me on my phone about a debt that wasn't even mine.also I thought once you filled bankruptcy they have to leave you alone. that is why you file, to start over? The police filled a report but said it would have to be handled by an attorney. The attorney has already contacted them numerous times. most of the time if you send them a letter they stop. well, they are messing with the wrong cookie this time because I don't buy it for one minute and they are not going to bully me. I'll just move to a far away to a communist county or something come find me there!
several phone calls from a very rude man saying he is with the law firm of Trauner, Cohen and Thomas. Threats of calling our employer and mention of our mortage amount, When left his ext. I calle to say please do not call our home or work contact only by mail. Also, what is this in regards too. I also, sent a cease and desist letter. He called back and left a rude message saying yiy know what this is all about , you need to call me back. Yes, I can contact your employer. If you want to to the right thing call back.
We received a call for my daughter from Trauner, Cohen and Thomas. Ms. Azor at 1-800-430-7124 X 1504 had tried to get a social security number from her yesterday and she refused. Since my daughter is at college, I called to see why an attorney was calling my daughter. She was rude and said she already talked to her and now my daughter was paying back money. I told she was mistaken because my daughter did not get anything settled because she refused to give a SS number. But in the conversation she stated that she had spoken to not my daughters name but my name yesterday and I proceeded to tell her she did not speak to me and that I was "that name" and I know who I spoke to on the phone and every conversation from yesterday and she did not speak with me and I have no business that I know with a law firm. Then Ms. Azor stated she did not have time to argue with me and that it was not in her interest to continue this call, and pretty much dismissed me. this sounds to me like a huge scam to get your social security number to steal identity. Many people will think they can trust them because after all they are law firm, Probably not! The government needs to get on these people now before identities are stolen. Many people will give them their SS numbers because of fear of being sued or in trouble.
I received a call this morning saying that I better call back by 11am or else. I had been asleep and my son awakened me bec he thought it was urgent that I did call back. The woman who answered the phone had no idea that I'd been called and asked for bits of information, my ssn, my address, my name. When I refused to tell her anything until she told me the nature of the business, she said Ma'am, if we called you, you are being sued or your check is about to be garnished bec of a judgement entered against you. If you do not want to give me your number have your attorney call us back. I said that I wanted to know right now what they were talking about. She could find nothibng but transferred me to several numbers of people who did not know I'd even been called. I did give my name but refused to give my ssn until they said if you are being sued and dont find out about it in time you won't be able to fight it. I couldn 't imagine who/what it could be so I asked for the ssn of the person they referenced. The number was off by one digit, so I figured that they had mistyped the numbers. I informed that they'd BETTER NOT use my ssn erroneously and cause me any kind of problem because I was recording their name and number to check to make sure they didn't. He said he thought that maybe someone had given my name as a reference at one time and that is why they asked for me. I hope they don't try to steal my identity, rob my bank account or garnish my check. I work for the government and they'd BETTER NOT!!! Look out, everyone!!
HOw can we stop them from targeting the weaker of us???
I received a letter from Trauner, Cohen & Thomas and it said that I needed to contact them within 30 days or a Sheriff would be visiting me and they would garnish my check etc.. My husband called to try to set up payment arrangements of 150 dollars to start and 50 dollars a month. The gentlemen agreed with this arrangement but told my husband to have me call Ms Tolen (his boss) because they had to get my permission to speak with my husband instead of me. I did and the lady said that she could not take payment arrangements and that they were not a collection agency and that they were an attorney office. She said that I would have to pay the amount in full or they would garnishment my check.
As I tried to come to some sort of agreement with her I asked to speak to the attorney on the letterhead and she said that they would not talk to me. They would only talk to me in court. She said that they were trying to work with me and not take me to court but the only way for them to work out a payment plan or an arrangement is for me to give them my monthly expenses, my employer name and number and my income before tax. Because she was nice which is unusual, I felled for it. I gave her all the info she requested and let me add that she asked me for my social security number to pull up my account and I gave her that too. She then says that she doesn’t see how we manage and that she doesn’t think the attorneys will work anything out based on the numbers I gave. She said she would ring me back. Two minutes later she calls saying that she want 2689.00 down and 350 a month. I told her I could not do that. She called me back 2 minutes later and said if I was willing to do 500 a month and set up post dated checks in the system. I told her yes I was willing to try because I didn’t want to get my check garnished but that would be a very hard payment to make. She then said that she would call me back.
After rethinking what I did I decided to research the company and I was furious when I saw all the bad things about them on websites. From stealing money out of people account to lying etc. and actually being a debt collector. Now I’m sick because they have all this information on me that I gave to them. The only thing I didnt do was give them my account number and set those payments up.
