I am going to report this call as an unsolicited call and I am so sick of getting these and these people getting away when calling people who are on a DO NOT CALL LIST.
I got a call from NACA today. It was a pushy sales type call and ate up a good 3 minutes on my answering machine. They may be non-profit, which means they don't have to be restricted by the do-not-call list. Maybe they do some good work for some people. But I don't appreciate long robo-call messages being left on my machine. My phone is for family and friends, not organizations I have no relationship with. If they're going to be pushy enough to call people at random, with an automated call, they should at least keep the message brief.
Yes, they are legit non-profit that helps people with first time mortgages and people with 'troubled' mortgages. They are HUD-approved also. However, that does not excuse them making unsolicited phone calls, especially to those of us who have NO need at all for their services. Since non-profits are exempt from the Fed Do Not Call list, I doubt we can do anything except complain; which is what I did at the DNC website.
Here's their legit web site...
