I called this number back from my office line and a message said "please press any number to be placed on the do not call list." Of course, I didn't. I was afraid it would just confirm my telephone number and they would keep calling. I dont' have any credit cards either.
I've asked them before to take me off their call list and it doesn't happen. I also tried pressing 2 as the automated call says to get off the list and they disconnect you. I've reported them numerous times to the Do Not Call Complaint bureau and it continues. I just got a call 9:00 am on Saturday morning. I pressed 1 and was told they were calling from my credit card company. When I asked which card he said Visa and Mastercard. I asked which bank and he rattled off about 6 banks. He confirmed my name and phone number and said I was the correct person. I told him this information is easily accessible from the phone book and remove me from the call solicitation list. He began speaking a foreign language and hung up.
Credit Card debt interest reduction service. Fran was very plesant and told me that I can reduce the interest on my MAsterCard from 21% to less than 5%. I agreed and gave her the numbers on my card my e-mail adress and she said that I would get a notice in a few hours on my e-mail as soon as the interest was reduced. Several hours after she called, I checked my e-mail and it said that my interest was now 5% and that I should check my card on-line. I did and the computer said that 600 dollars had been charged. I called the bank and they checked who took the money and told me that I was scammed and that I could file a police report and a claim to get my money back.
