a "Microsoft technician" with an Indian accent called me to tell me my computer had been hacked. He was going to help me fix it over the phone, for a fee. This was the 6th such call I'd gotten in 3 weeks. The last time they tried scamming me I threatened to take legal action. So I played along and acted as befuddled as possible, and told him to direct me so I could fix this terrible problem. At one point I asked him for his number, so I could call back if we got disconnected, When I got "Timothy's" phone number I told him that this time it's going down, and he hung up immediately.
Got a call from "Instant Tech Support" telling me my IP address has been compromised. He wanted me to do some things on my keyboard, which I didn't. He said he got my phone number from Microsoft but he was unable to tell me what my name was. He only had my phone number. Not sure what this is all about, but I am sure it is a scam. Anyone else have this issue?
I got a call from someone claiming that he is 'Microsoft Technician' calling because of some automatic downloads onto my computer. I'm not sure if these people are authentic.
I got a call from the same number but they seem to be helpful to me..they helped resolve the problems I was having on my computer..Well I'm happy with them..
Thought: Not every caller is known to be a scam..Some are genuine.
