I got a call from someone claiming that he is 'Microsoft Technician' calling because of some automatic downloads onto my computer. I'm not sure if these people are authentic.
Received a call from a technician telling me my computer had been hacked and he was happy to walk me through the repair. He gave me this number, but caller ID was 718-513-1436. VERY SUSPICIOUS. I know I have asked repeatedly to be removed from these calls.
If you believe the caller was a 'technician', rather than the scammer that he is, you are likely to be taken in, and ripped off by these AH's, and other similar frauds!
I got a call from this Henry guy too. I was suspicious when he asked me to look at my keyboard and press the CTRL button, well.....I don't have a CTRL button because I have a MAC and I thought he should know I have a MAC since he knows I was hacked. I wanted to verify his identity and sure enough I googled this 404-566-9884 number and saw it was a SCAM!!!! I told him I would like to phone him back to verify, and of course he told me to wait 2-3 minutes before calling back. Why would I have to wait so long to phone him back? I didn't call him back, and of course he phoned me and wanted to know why I didn't call him back and I told him because he is a SCAM and that he should be ashamed of what he is doing to people. Please do not fall for this and tell the elderly in your life not to either.
