I have been getting calls at all hours from a man who calls himself "Mr. Lester," from this number. He identifies himself as a representative of GMAC (General Motors?). He keeps asking for a friend who lived with me over 10 years ago. When I ask if I can relay a message, he states I cannot as "it is a legal matter." The friend for whom he is calling has been scammed repeatedly as he is a brain-injured vet. I am really upset that this person is being targetted again!
I have been getting these calls since January, so far I have ignored this Ms Lewis that is calling me, So far she has used 3 to 4 different numbers as listed here: 503-563-0775;502-805-1739;678-3944286; and this pretaining to a legal matter about a bank account I never had and now she has called my work place and left a message there stating it is attached to my SS# and the number to call back on is 404-585-2629 her ext is 5966 and then she gives you an reference number as well. Last month she threaten to garnish my wages on my cell phone answering service, but yet she is is still calling why? Cause they know they have case to garnish your wages.
I have been getting daily messages from a "Miss Smith" at G&A Services on my home (landline) answering machine since last Thursday (April 5), except for the weekend. I never answer my landline anymore, and only pickup if the message is from someone I want to talk to. "Miss Smith" claims to have an "urgent matter" to discuss, but does not say anything about debt collection. The last debt collector who used to call every day up until last week finally sent me a letter with sufficient detail for me to send them a letter telling them I was going to deal with the orignal creditor and for them to go away. Actually, they were trying to contact someone with a slightly different name from mine. But at least that debt collector, NCO Financial, explicitly identified themself as a debt collector. Now they have stopped calling and I am getting calls from G&A Services, who don't even give me an 800 number, which NCO did. Now I am thinking I was too rough with NCO - I didn't realize how "fair" (relatively) they were being! So, what should I do? Should I modify my outgoing message to tell G&A to send me a validation letter? Is there any good reason I should even consider returning their call?
I got a text message from 404-585-2629 saying to call immediately and reference a number. I looked up the number and saw many posts about fraud calls.
Did not call back and sent a message to send a validation letter to me for this along with a stop texting request.
