I have been getting calls at all hours from a man who calls himself "Mr. Lester," from this number. He identifies himself as a representative of GMAC (General Motors?). He keeps asking for a friend who lived with me over 10 years ago. When I ask if I can relay a message, he states I cannot as "it is a legal matter." The friend for whom he is calling has been scammed repeatedly as he is a brain-injured vet. I am really upset that this person is being targetted again!
This is a collection company. G and A Services (404) 585 2629 who buys old debts and tries to collect on them. Most are Payday Loan companies. They will try to say that you were uncooperative with the previous owner of the debt and a complaint has been filed.
As for a copy of the complaint. Legally they can not threaten you with action that they legally can not take against you. Please know your state laws regarding debt. In the state of Texas you can not be sued for consumer debts in most cases. And for payday loans if they accepted a check and agreed to hold it for a certain period of time as collateral for a loan then is a debt and not check fraud. They would have to prove that you intentionally tried to defraud the payday loan company and convince a district attorney to file charges against you. Most cities are overworked and underpaid and will not pursue or even consider these type of cases.
When I called the number on the email I received I let them go through their spill and threaten me with everything they had and everytime she asked for payment I simply said "no". She became very irrate and before ending the call I let her know that I had filed for bankruptcy and this was under my bankruptcy and she was violating my automatic stay granted by the bankruptcy court. I let her know that I would be handing over a copy of the recorded call to the bankruptcy court because I had talked to them last week on the phone and told them the same information and know they were still pursuing collection activity via my work email.
Please know your rights. Try your best to make arrangments and pay what you can on your bills but times are hard for everyone right now and you should not have to be subjected to bullying.
These people are sending me emails saying that I owe for debts from companies I have never even heard of, let alone had any business with them. This is obviously some sort of scam
A Mrs. Rosland Patterson called my parents with a Pay Day Loan that has already been paid. Angus called the pay day loan company for verification of said bill and they told him that they did not know who G & A was. Mrs. Patternson threatened nmy parents with calling the police to solve the sposed debit. I know that this sposed bill was paid in full over two years ago. I tried to get any information about this bill and she refused to give any to me. How can I valudated anything with out proof? So I told my parents to ingonre the harrasing phone calls and the terrisitic threats thats were made.
