These people called my granddaughter, telling them that I was in legal trouble. I called them and talked to a "Mr. Gilchrist". He said that I had 1 hour to resolve this or the lawyer would file papers. I told him that I would call him back. I did, but with MY lawyer on the line. She began to ask him questions and he became irritated. She asked him to fax the debt information on their letterhead so that we could verify the debt. He said "our fax is not working". She asked for his first name and he said "my first name is of no consequence". He said that he would tell the "lawyer" that I refused to pay and my lawyer asked to speak to him. Then he hung up. These people are trying to scam people out of money! Do not pay them! I googled them and got this page.
Calls every evening but usually hangs up before the machine answers. This has been going on for about 2 months. After reading comments from others I can't figure out why they call me. I never answer since I don't know who they are.
I got a call from them also. They said I should have received correspondence from them in October saying I had 30 days to dispute the claim. I did not get any letter. When I asked for them to send me the original debt, they said I was just using stall tactics. Further, they claimed I owed over $6,000 when the original debt was 1,500. Because the original debt was then sold to a debt holding company and they were representing this holding company. Don't know what to do!

Also, they used the address as Aurora, Colorado. When I called info in Aurora, they have no listing for Peachtree Law Center. They sent me an e-mail with the amount owed in letter form but no copy of the original debt which I defaulted on according to them. They also called my job as an "introductory" call.
