just answered a call from this # as i was reading what others had posted. they asked to talk to parents of my high school age daughter said she had attended a college prep class or gone on a scholarship website and i told him she had not done such a thing. he asked me if i wanted to be placed on a do not call list and seemed very nice about it but we will see..... they have been calling for the past week a couple times a day so we will see if the calls stop.
Received a call from this number on my home phone. No one answered. I called back. A male answered. Said he attended UofA. He described the software that he had to offer. Sounds like a good program. He said that we could try the software and could send it back if we were not satisfied. The Word Smart Site on the Internet also orders a free trial with additional software for 14.95.
At the end of the conversation he wanted a credit card number prior to sending the wordsmarrt software. I told him that I would want to check out the software online prior to giving him my credit card number. This could possibly be a way of obtaining all of your personal information for later use by the caller or someone else that purchases the information.
Do not call back or answer.
Just got one of these calls today 11-4-2011. When I asked that she either call back, send email, or send mailing...she said the offer was for right now...they cannot call back. Scam! Scam! Scam! No reputable company operates like this. I'm so glad I hung up and then looked online to see what it's all about. Trust your gut, if something doesn't sound right, it's not.
