just answered a call from this # as i was reading what others had posted. they asked to talk to parents of my high school age daughter said she had attended a college prep class or gone on a scholarship website and i told him she had not done such a thing. he asked me if i wanted to be placed on a do not call list and seemed very nice about it but we will see..... they have been calling for the past week a couple times a day so we will see if the calls stop.
Here is how to get rid of annoying telemarketers. It requires some effort on your part, but it's well worth it, and can be a lot of fun.
First, some background. This company is classified as educational. They and others are usually legitimate schools or colleges trying to enroll new students. Since they are "non profit", they do not fall under the Do Not Call Registry guidelines & laws.
Now for the fun part. If you've already asked them to leave you alone, and they keep calling, try this: When you see them on your caller ID, answer it. When they start up their speech, interrupt them and pretend to speak in really broken english. One of the asian languages work the best. Say something like: "No speake engrish" or "no, no, meester no home". Say whatever you want, just make it really hard for them to understand you. Eventually, they will hang up. The problem is trying to keep from laughing at their frustration.
Here's another option: When you answer the call, sound interested but ask them if they could "hold on for a minute". Then put the phone down and walk away. Go have a cup of coffee, do the dishes, whatever you want to do, just leave the phone on the table until you hear a dial tone. This method wastes their time, and they will hang up after about 5 to 7 minutes.
You may have to do this a few times, but eventually the will stop calling you. Have fun!
time for a class action law suit....they have info on my daughter and cont. to call.I told them to stop and the guy said oh or what ,you going to do something about it....Are these idiots for real...
This number calls non-stop but we've never answered and of course they dont leave a message. After coming to this forum I see they are a telemarketing scam, and yes, I have a high schooler in the house. Need to figure out how to block this number.
