I don't even have any school age kids in school! Yet, these people call all day long! I eventually called the number back and you get a prompt "If you would like to be removed from our list, hit "1"...." I did som, but they continue to call. I think our Attorney General needs to get involved. They call from early morning to late evening - at least twice a day.
I've answered calls from this number several times... but always a hang up. Same caller ID (WS Learning Center). So I called them back. I got a recording that was brief "commercial" for the Wordsmart software, but then it gave me the option (press "2") to put my number on their do not call list. We'll see if it works.
I just got a call, looked up to see who they are and found this site. Luckily, I can go to my phone company and have the number blocked. Check to see if you can do the same.
We need to complain to the College Board. On the PSAT and SAT tests, the student can check a box indicating that the scores may be shared with colleges and other entities involved in test preparation. There is only one box, so if the student is interested in getting brochures from colleges, he/she is also open to receiving this kind of solicitation. The College Board needs to be pressured to provide separate boxes for colleges and for test preparation services, as the latter is full of unscrupulous people -- just the sort of people you'd rather not be given the sort of detailed information that the College Board provides them.
