If you don't want to get calls from these people, most phone companies have some kind of blocking service. How they got my phone #, I don't know, but when I called the carrier to report it, they said they could block that number. Check with your carrier. That might bring about peace and quiet.
I don't even have any credit cards, yet I'm getting these annoying calls that everyone here is talking about! There's never anybody on the other end and they don't leave a message. If they are trying to sell a service, don't they need to speak to someone?
I have been receiving these calls for about a year now and every time, I have asked to be removed from their calling list. They continually reassure me that I will be removed within the next 24 hours. Sure enough, within a day or two, the calls resume. They have now started calling my cell phone and I have blocked them. This has not resolved the issue as they continually call and waste my minutes! When I finally got through to a "supervisor", he was extremely rude. As he was getting louder on the phone, I got quieter and calmer, to the point that he hung up on me. I called back and got the same person and explained that I did not want to cause problems, that I just want the calls to stop. He hung up on me again! I called back again, Same result...hung up on. Now, everytime they call, I ask to speak to a supervisor and explain that I don't want the calls to continue and they hang up on me every time!
Another option I just used was calling National Bank Card Monitor at 1-800-871-0372 directly, explaining what was happening and how the callers hang up on you when you ask to be removed. I spoke with a Gina Thompson there and she seemed genuinely concerned with this practice. She advised she would be forwarding the information to the Marketing Department at National Bank Card Monitor to see if they could resolve the issue. I would suggest everyone call the above number and request to be removed from the calling lists. Perhaps it will work....we'll see.
I just started getting this call today. And I am pissed about it because I have been being called by another number from alaska every day, and I never picked up, so now they are trying this number.
