p.s. to previous message posted. They called the friends and family on 02-14-2013. They have been calling me daily for the past 8 days and as I said do not state the name of the company or their phone number.
02-17-2013 through 02-25-2013 time period I have been receiving these calls.
they call every few days looking for someone named Jessica (i changed my number in february and have gotten other calls for this Jessica) but they call and usually give me something automated but one time i had a voicemail from an angry sounding guy with a strong new york accent and he yelled in my ear, if i answer i always hit for it to send me to talk to a person and i always get some voicemail box and never get any response.
These people have been calling both mine and hubby's cell phones for weeks and leave the same old message most everyone is getting. From the Finalization Dept. of National Mediation Group. Instead of quoting the non-existent article number, they are now saying that since we haven't responded to their calls they are adding a $25 charge to what is owed. Then to press one to speak to someone...and this time I did. I had had it. Some gal got on the phone, no name given..just 'hullo' which was barely recognizable...like she had food in her mouth. I asked her "who are you people and why are you bugging us?" She started to say something, caught herself and started yelling "I don't have time for this type of conversation. We will just forward the orders...blah, blah, blah." Before I could say 'you are the ones calling me so you must want something' she hung up. Now how did she know who answered the call to 'forward' the correct orders or whatever. They can spend weeks/months calling a number then don't have time for the conversation??? Big red flags!!! Of course I suspected it was all a scam...we don't owe anyone and we have nothing outstanding anywhere. Now we will wait and see if they call again...and I just might do it all over again. Apparently she didn't like someone putting THEM on the spot instead of them throwing their weight around. LOL
I live in Maine. I receive calls from this number almost daily stating they want my letter of intent to stop
further litigation. They never identify themselves nor do they leave their number. I have to track the number down to see who called. What is more annoying, however, is that they have called relatives and friends in both Massachusetts and Florida wth very harrassing phone calls stating they are bringing "charges" against these people. These family and friends are no longer speaking to me because they believe I put this caller up to this and are not the least bit understanding that I did not provide their names and numbers to these unscrupulos people making these calls. This has caused me great hardship because I have lost long-term friends and close family members to this company calling them instead of me. My friends and family don't seem to understand that the caller making these calls is something way beyond my control and influence.
If this company is a collection agency, I believe they have violated every fair credit act and they are worthy of further investigation and/or prosecution to the full extent of the law. I would appreciate it if these calls stopped completely. Thank you for your help.
