Woman named June with accent asking if I'm interested in a "Leveraging IT infrastructure" white paper. she had my email address and asked me to confirm. I suspect this is a firm that sells marketing lists and is verifying that their list is still current? Never received a white paper.
Woman calls weekly to ask about someone who works here. Never heard of the people, and hard to understand caller. Asked them to stop calling. Today she called twice!
I get multiple calls on the day they decide to harass me. Always heavy accent and I always tell them politely that "I don't recognize that name for this office". Customer Service means being polite, but it doesn't have to mean putting up with this bull or giving out numbers they should already have if this is a business call. Luckily they seem to limit the calling to a couple of days per week.
Lady with Indian accent called and it was a bit of a challenge to understand her. I was not able to dicepher the company she was calling from but offered to give me something called "White Paper" if I confirm my email address. I told her that I don't understand why I'm getting telemarketing calls on my work number and requested that it stop. I also asked her how she got my contact information, especially the work number. I usually never provide my work number with a few exceptions. She said that she could not tell me how she got my information and insisted that this was not a telemarketing call. When I tried to inquire more, she got frustrated and hung up on me. Rude. Somehow, I have a feeling that this call is originated from a vehicle (Honda) which I recently purchased. Since the purchase, I have received several calls, on my work number, from Xirius Satellite to continue the membership which was originally free for 3 months. Each time, i have declined and now this. Weird.
Similar accented male and female - been calling for years, asking for people irrelevant to IT. I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling. I've giving them the correct contact names (they've never used those names), I've been rude, I've blown air horns into the phone, I've hung up them - I even went as far as letting them speak to the people on their list...my people telling 'em they got the wrong contact yet they continue calling.
If you get a call from this number and they identify you by name, TELL THEM YOU ARE SOMEONE ELSE (or that you don't exist!). They're generating lists of professionals to sell to suckers who still buy lists for cold calling.
