Woman named June with accent asking if I'm interested in a "Leveraging IT infrastructure" white paper. she had my email address and asked me to confirm. I suspect this is a firm that sells marketing lists and is verifying that their list is still current? Never received a white paper.
Man with accent opened the conversation with, "Direct me to [manager]." I asked what the call was in reference to, and he responded, "Business." When I said that more details were required, he answered it was to impart information. I replied that was considered soliciting, and he said, "Direct me to his voicemail." I was about to say that voicemails to managers weren't permitted, but having dealt with enough nonsense today, I went on the attack -- "Are you ordering me?!" He then had the nerve to repeat his demand, so I hung up loudly. I hear this a lot from these people -- "Connect me." "Direct me." Do this, do that. Not even Hello or Please. Who the h-e-double-hockey-sticks do they think they are?!
This heavy accent guy has called several times asking for a name which could be a version on someone who works at my office. He is obviously a telemarketer as the background noise is a call center. He has the same routine to his call and I've spoken to him about 5 times. Twice, telling no, not avail. Then telling him send info to my email and I will route it. Twice again, and since I make him clarify his name of Suchan from Cap Gemini each time - I know it is the same guy. Today I said take this name off your list because now you are becoming a distraction and we have no use for you. I expect he'll call another 3 times before the week is out. (p.s. They are supposed to remove names when asked, but takes a few weeks.)
Received a call at the office at 6:45am and asked for an employee. I told the Asian sounding woman that he did not come in until 7am, she then starts getting upset, saying that she has this number (rattles off our office number) for him. I, very firmly, told her that this is an office and if somebody doesn't come in to work until 7am, then they don't come in until 7am. Then I hung up on her.
Calls and asks for I.T. that haven't worked for us in years including one that passed away a long long time ago. We were bought out and no outsource our I.T. which they just can seem to grasp. I just forward them to the fax machine each time they call
