Woman named June with accent asking if I'm interested in a "Leveraging IT infrastructure" white paper. she had my email address and asked me to confirm. I suspect this is a firm that sells marketing lists and is verifying that their list is still current? Never received a white paper.
Just got a call from this number and didn't answer! BUT, I've come to know certain numbers and to just not answer. I hope they don't keep calling because I don't have the patience or the time to deal with cold calls!
This time I got a woman with a VERY strong accent. I kept asking her to repeat herself, this mad her angry, and then asked for her name, company and phone number. She questioned, in an angry manner, why I was asking these questions and I said in this country we get this info before we transfer. She tried to come up with a phone number (only gave 5 numbers) and when I asked her to repeat it she gave a different number so I asked why the number changed and she hung up. I love messing with these people.
Young woman with accent wanted to speak with a specific manager to provide information. She argued with me over whether that constituted soliciting and finally gave up. Twenty minutes later, an older woman (Frances Gonzalez from Microsoft, allegedly) claimed to be returning the same official's call. Put her on hold a few seconds, then said he wasn't available. Twice she requested his voicemail, and I was in the middle of telling her a second time that we don't transfer messages into managers' voicemails when she hung up.
