one more thing the guy claimed to be an independent poll, but stated they are with the DNC! HUH! maybe one of Hitlery's groups! plus a bogus ohine number.. it fits Hitery's M.O.
not the one you expect, you have to be careful with any caller you don't know. I know you were just playing with the guy, but you played right into his hands. Someone calls you purporting to run a political survey. They get you to answer "yes" as many times as possible. What you may not realize is that they're not a political survey company at all. They are scammers trying to sell you something you never ordered, and they have erased their part of the conversation and dubbed over it. The new recording is of them asking if you want to buy something, naming the price, and you saying okay. Then you are sent an invoice along with some discounted merchandise, and if you don't pay it they threaten to take you to court with their recording showing you ordered it.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER say "yes" to anyone on the line who called you, and whom you don't know. You never know what is occurring in the background. Always qualify their questions with questions of your own. "Are you the homeowner?" Rather than say "Yes," say this: "I am the homeowner."
Or just hang up. You don't know them and they initiated the call. That means they need you more than you need them.
It reminds me of long distance slamming practice that asks you a series of questions and the moment they get a yes they edit the entire recording so that it sounds like you agreed to switch companies.
This is one of the reasons why I tend not to trust surveys. I have read comments on this site where people give answers other than yes or no to surveys and the call is eventually ended once the telemaggoter realizes that you are not saying what they want to hear.
Yeah. I may have screwed up. They woke me up with this call, asking if I voted in the last pResidential election, just answer yes, or no. I said, "Yes." He asked again. I said, "Yes!" Then, he wanted to call back, monthly, with more questions. I said, "I think not." Then, I rang off.
OK... If I get an invoice for something I did not agree to purchase, I will just put it through the paper shredder. If they continue to harass me, I'll ask them to show me my signature on an agreement form.
