Same thing - lower my credit card rate to 6.5% They knew EXACTLY what credit card I had and they knew my balance. They wanted the expiration date on my card, so I said I couldn't give it to them.
The place on my caller ID stays: "Bozeman, MT" and the 406-219-2525 but it's clearly a call center from overseas. The gentleman had a thick accent as though he is from the Indian, Pakastani, Indonesia areas.
As soon as I said I can't give them the expiration date of the card, he disconnected the call.
This probably is a phishing scam. If they can get your ss number and date of birth, they can probably get a copy of your credit report as well. He surely knew the type of card and the SPECIFICS of the card. He said he was from "Credit Card Services."
I was out walking my dog. Thank goodness my 90 yr. old husband did not pick up the phone.
We are on the DNC list so why do these calls come through so often?
I answered the phone today (same number, same city Bozeman, MT) and there were two options: 1. to talk to someone about "lowering your credit card interest rates" and 2. "We will never call you again"
Maybe option 2 works, but I never give it a chioce :))
